My lodging recommendations are based on cost, location, past visits, whether or not I need parking, and overall convenience. I generally prefer basic, no frills accommodations. After all, I don't travel to see hotels, and I see little reason to pay for amenities like conference centers and ballrooms that I know I won't use.
